Saddle Ridge Calgary Real Estate & Houses 

Saddleridge is a beautiful community in the northeast quadrant of the City of Calgary. It is one of the easternmost communities as it lies directly west of Stoney Trail.  It is also bounded by Métis Trail, 80th Ave, and 96th Ave NE.  This neighbourhood is located near the communities of Martindale and Taradale.  Saddle Ridge is one of the newer communities in the city, with development going on since the mid-2000s.

Saddleridge’s scenic views and friendly atmosphere are some of the many perks of living there.  Many of the homes here come in all shapes and colours with a distinctively modern feel.  They are often two-storeys with front-facing garages and beautifully landscaped yards.  Many homes back onto parks with ponds for upscale living with natural views.  Development in Saddleridge has also included high-density housing such as elegant condo buildings for those who don’t need as much space but want to experience this peaceful community.

Saddleridge has incredible parks and green spaces for residents to walk their dogs or go for a leisurely bike ride.  Nearby in Castleridge, Prairie Winds Park has great walking paths, a wading pool, a toboggan hill and a rink for hockey in the wintertime.  Avid golfers frequent the many golf courses nearby including the Silverwing Links Golf Course and McCall Lake Golf Course for a relaxing day in the sun.

Saddleridge is also near multitudes of recreation centres for all kinds of activities including swimming, skating and soccer.  The Genesis Centre and The Don Hartman North East Sportsplex are each a few minutes drive.  Additionally, the Saddle Ridge Community Association is a great place where families enjoy the many recreational activities, programs and events for the whole family, including Karate and Boy Scouts.  The Christmas Festival is a favourite here.  

There is also no lack of stores and restaurants nearby for a day of shopping or date-night.  This charming community includes the Saddletowne Circle which has everything you need from a Safeway to a Shoppers Drug Mart.  Banks and other services are located in this commercial zone.  Residents enjoy the Boston Pizza and other great local places to grab a bite to eat.  

With access to major roads, it’s easy to live here and get around the city.  Hop on Stoney to reach Edmonton, or 80th Ave to get to the airport in 10 minutes.  Commuters love the Saddletowne LRT stop to get to work and downtown with ease.

Families in Saddle Ridge have access to many schools in the area for children of all ages and programs.  This includes Hugh A. Bennett School, Peter Lougheed School and Light of Christ.  It is also served by Nelson Mandela and Bishop McNally High Schools.
